Poet-turned-fictioneer of Zothique, Averoigne, and Hyperborea. The most stylistically extravagant writer the magazine ever ran.


Smith’s English translation of Baudelaire’s Spleen appeared in Weird Tales in February 1926. Fiction cycles of Hyperborea, Averoigne, and Zothique followed in the magazine from 1928.
