First appearance in Weird Tales: “The Tortoise-Shell Cat,” November 1924. The serial Invaders from the Dark ran April through June 1925.
La Spina was born Fanny Greye Bragg on 10 July 1880 in Wakefield, Massachusetts, and died 17 September 1969. The FictionMags Index on philsp lists Weird Tales fiction by her from November 1924 through March 1951.
The November 1924 issue — the first to list Farnsworth Wright as editor — carried “The Tortoise-Shell Cat.” No story under her name appears in the indexed contents of the 1923 numbers or of the 1924 numbers before that date.
Invaders from the Dark was serialized in three parts in the April, May, and June 1925 issues. Arkham House published it as a hardcover in 1960. Wikipedia calls that her first and only hardcover book.
Issue months are from the FictionMags / SFI contents lists and name index on philsp, and from the ISFDB title record for Invaders from the Dark. They have not been checked against digitized copies of the issues. Wikipedia and SFI both give 1880–1969; the calendar dates and birth name are from Wikipedia. SFI records a 1919 Thrill Book story as by Ezra Putnam; Wikipedia gives the pen name Isra Putnam. That spelling is not resolved here. This page does not host the stories.
