The March 1923 first issue of Weird Tales carried the opening installment of Kline’s “The Thing of a Thousand Shapes,” alongside the cover story “Ooze.”
He also worked on the magazine in its first year, assisting Baird as a reader. The combined May/June/July 1924 issue, the last to list Baird, was assembled by Farnsworth Wright and Kline.
A working list marked his exact title and tenure as acting editor. This page states only the serial in the first issue and that he helped assemble the 1924 combined number. It does not call him acting editor.
