Howard was born 22 January 1906 in Peaster, Texas, and died 11 June 1936 in Cross Plains, Texas. Red Shadows (Weird Tales, August 1928) is the first Solomon Kane story. The Shadow Kingdom (August 1929) is the first King Kull story. Both precede Conan (December 1932).
He wrote those cycles for this magazine. Bran Mak Morn belongs to the same run.
